Australian Alpaca Centre (Australia)
Fashion at the Alpaca Centre Australia.
Coolawarra
breeding is tomorrows commercial product.
In 1992 The Alpaca Centre, Australia opened in Berrima and the Coolawarra Alpaca Partnership was officially launched by the Federal Minister for Industry. With the expansion of the operation two further shipments of Alpacas ameliorated the Coolawarra herds with fresh bloodlines and by 1996, the first yarn was produced by Coolawarra. The Alpaca Centre serves as an educational outlet exhibiting high quality knitted and woven clothing that promotes the beauty of the Alpaca in finished garments.
Its success has spread to supplying quality fashion displays around Australia and overseas. The Centre's 100% Australian designed and made, pure alpaca Garments, now grace the fashion catwalks in all Australian capital cities. Only 12 years have passed since Coolawarra first imported Alpacas into Australia and the first seeds of textile manufacturing are developing. Commercial production is limited by lack of fleece, but in boutique quantities, Australian yarns, beautiful scarves, throws and luxury garments are now produced and in high demand. Examples of such products may be seen at the Alpaca Centre Australia or contact us for catalogue and price list.
Nicola Forrest - owner of Alpaca Centre Australia:
"One of the properties which I hope will be evident from this catalogue
is the versatility of alpaca clothing. You will find jumpers and coats
which are perfect for wearing at the snow; but equally, we have an array
of women's and men's outfits suitable for city work, or a very classy
smart-casual look in any season. I am proud to say that many of these
lines are made under our own label, Alpaca Design".
Located 5 minutes from the Coolawarra Stud in Historic Berrima.
